Career summary
I’m the Librarian for English and Comparative Literature at New York University’s Elmer Holmes Bobst Library, where I develop collections in my subject areas, conduct outreach to faculty and students, and provide library instruction. From 2008 to 2012, I was a Research and Instruction Librarian and Special Projects Coordinator at the Charles E. Shain Library at Connecticut College, where I served as library liaison to the English, Film Studies, and French departments and worked on various other projects, including editing the Information Services Newsletter and producing Information Services’ annual report.
My library career began in 2004 with a Council on Library and Information Services Postdoctoral Fellowship in Academic Libraries at the University of Virginia Library, where I stayed on an additional year as Acting Public Service and Instructional Technology Librarian in what’s now the Scholars’ Lab. From 2006 to 2008, I held a reference and instruction internship at the Swarthmore College Library while earning my MS in Library and Information Science at Drexel University.
Before that, I earned a Ph.D in English Literature at the University of Michigan, where I taught a variety of courses as a graduate student instructor and lecturer. In 2004, I also worked part-time for the Early English Books Online Text Creation Partnership, a project based at the University of Michigan Library, reviewing TEI markup—a job that helped cement my decision to move from a faculty career to a library one.
